Exciting news for gravel cycling enthusiasts! The Unbound Gravel Event, held earlier this year in Kansas, has once again proven to be one of the biggest gravel cycling events globally. This year, it served as the perfect platform for unveiling the latest innovations in gravel cycling gear. If you missed it, you can catch a glimpse of the action here:

During this year’s event, SRAM gave riders an exclusive sneak peek at the all-new 13-speed Transmission type Red XPLR groupset. Paired with a potential new Zipp wheelset, this groupset is poised to revolutionize gravel cycling, or so they say.

SOME KEY FEATURES INCLUDE:

Transmission Style Derailleur: The derailleur is mounted directly to the frame in a Transmission style, similar to SRAM’s XXSL Eagle. This design sandwiches the dropout, with the derailleur dissected by the thru-axle, creating an incredibly robust setup.

SRAM Red AXS Components: The bicycle at the event was equipped with the new SRAM Red AXS shifters, brake calipers, and cranks, officially unveiled just a few months ago.

Cassette Ratio: The cassette ratio appeared to be 10-46, though more options may be available upon official release.

So what does this mean for gravel cyclists? Well, the introduction of the SRAM Red XPLR 13-speed groupset signifies a major leap forward in gravel cycling technology. The Transmission style derailleur ensures a more durable and reliable connection, perfect for tackling the rugged and varied terrain that gravel cyclists love. The new SRAM Red AXS components bring precision and control to your ride, enhancing your overall cycling experience.
